World of Warcraft: Forever launches on November 4, introducing a third permanent version of Blizzard’s long-running MMO alongside Modern WoW and WoW Classic. Rather than being another expansion or a fresh Classic server, Forever reimagines the original level 1–60 Azeroth with new zones, more than 1,000 quests, nine dungeons, additional character options and an ongoing content roadmap.

Blizzard has confirmed that World of Warcraft: Forever launches globally on Wednesday, November 4. The release uses a simultaneous worldwide launch, meaning the local calendar date differs depending on the region. Here are the main release times:

The game is included with an active World of Warcraft subscription or Game Time, so players don’t need to purchase another full-price game to access the new experience. It can be installed through the Battle.net desktop app by selecting World of Warcraft: Forever from the available game versions.
There are optional upgrade editions, however. The Skyborne Heroic Pack and higher editions unlock the new Skyborne playable race and its Zephras Isle starting experience, alongside additional cosmetic items and other bonuses. The Skyborne Epic Pack and Warcraft Forever Collection also include 30 days of Game Time.
What Is World of Warcraft: Forever?
World of Warcraft: Forever is a third, permanent World of Warcraft experience designed to exist alongside the current retail game and Classic. It’s not an expansion to the current version, a seasonal event, or simply another Classic server. Blizzard describes it as a new, reimagined version of original Azeroth that will continue growing through new stories, systems and content updates informed by player feedback.
The experience returns to the early Year 1 period of the original game’s timeline, following the events of Warcraft III Reforged: Forsaken Kingdom and preceding later developments such as the reopening of the Dark Portal. Players begin at level 1 and progress through the familiar Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor toward level 60, although much of the world has been expanded with new locations and adventures.
There are more than 1,000 new quests, alongside new and reimagined destinations including Mount Hyjal, Shen’dralas, the Riverglades and Zephras Isle. The latter serves as the starting area for the Skyborne, a new playable race that can join either the Alliance or Horde. Several additional race and class combinations are available, including Human Hunters, Dwarf Shamans, Gnome Priests, Orc Mages, Troll Warlocks and Undead Paladins.
Forever also introduces nine new five-player dungeons, with content spanning levels 13 through 60. Its new account-wide Legacy System provides another progression path, rewarding players for completing challenges, exploring the world and developing characters. The system includes Legacy Challenges, Perks and Rewards, encouraging players to experience more of Azeroth without requiring them to level multiple characters to unlock every benefit.
PvP receives its own progression changes, including a refreshed Honor and Rank system and the new 15-versus-15 Darkspear Islands battleground. Players can also choose between different visual options, including Modern and Classic presentation presets, HD and Standard Definition character models, and official gamepad support.
The experience will continue developing beyond launch. Its first level-60 raids are scheduled to unlock on December 9, with Barrow Deeps, Hyjal Summit and Onyxia’s Lair among the initial challenges. Blizzard has also outlined plans for further raids, dungeons, PvP updates, world content, additional quests, Hardcore and a revamped iconic raid.
